And we're back!

Apologies for the gap between Blogs (perhaps we should call this a Bloggage or Blogjam ?). In fact, it’s been for a very positive reason. Stream Group and its sister company, JCN Solutions, held a stand at the eCommerce Expo in Olympia 2 weeks ago and we have been busy with follow-up meetings, proposals and new projects ever since.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting too much from the show, given the current state of the economy in the UK and the Eurozone and the general air of doom and gloom all around us. What surprised me is that we met so many people who are innovating technical solutions, business ideas and/or looking for real, working partnerships to grow their businesses.

Perhaps this is typical in times of recession when unemployment is growing; people are forced to look at doing their own things and are forced to create new models for business. With the advent of web, mobile and social media, these ideas are becoming easier and easier to bring to market without huge setup costs.

This is good news for companies who are flexible enough to embrace the new technologies and ways of working, but also who have a grounded sense of commercial reality, proven processes and deep technical skills. In these tough times, it will be the agile (small “a” !) businesses which survive and grow.
