Environmental Protection

Businesses have a unique responsibility for protecting the health of our environment.

UK and international regulations govern business practices and obligations, but undertaking environmental protection measures also shows that your business takes its responsibility seriously.

  • Environmental Protection Act - helping you meet your obligations
    • Policies and procedures - getting the right approach
      • Noise - monitoring and advice
        • Training - at all levels
          • Sustainability - audits, advice and training

            Environmental Protection Act

Every business has obligations to comply with the Environmental Protection Act but meeting the requirements can be confusing. Our consultants are experienced Environmental Health Officers who can perform the audits and assessments needed to comply. They will offer sensible advice in relation to compliance and control.

            Policies and Procedure.

We can write and develop your own environmental policies in line with ISO14000, co-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) or BS standards, and support these with staff training. We can help you prepare for a third party audit and also liaise with the awarding bodies on your behalf.

            Noise

We can advise on the noise emissions and regulations and offer advice on the available solutions. We have up to date measuring equipment and can help in planning applications or legal notices that have been served.

            Training

Good environmental protection practices depend on awareness throughout the company. Our training programmes can be developed for all levels of your business and to reflect you own policies and practices as well as the relevant regulations. Some of the courses are certificated and can be done in conjunction with other training like Health and Safety. See the 'Why Choose IGI?' page for a list of our training courses.

            Sustainability

Legislative changes have been introduced in many countries to support environmental and cultural sustainability in business practices which can include issues like carbon emissions, pollution and waste management, habitat protection and cultural sensitivity. Eco tourism and other environmentally aware movements have captured the interest of the public too. We can help to support your activities through policy guidance and advice, testing, training and sustainable audits. See Why Choose IGI? for a full list of our training courses or alternatively Contact Us for further information.
